OUR PASTOR
Reverend Dr. C. Dwayne Dollgener

Dear Members and Friends,

July has been a very good month for St. Thomas UCC. WE
have adopted a New Mission statement that should serve us
well as we prepare for the next chapter in our history. This
statement will give the search committee and the Council
direction for the next months. Thank you for adopting it and a
very big thank you to the committee that wrote and framed it
for us. We also, voted to proceed with the sewer project. This,
too, will help move us along  toward the next chapter in our
future. Thank you for your support. We have had our second
out door service and it went very well. Our attendance is
holding up well during the summer slow down. One of the
dangers for churches is the summer slow down. When fall
comes it is always hard to get back to our best. Hopefully we
will not have that problem.

Our Habitat build day went very well. Neil tells me we had four
that worked along side the St. Lucas people and much was
accomplished. Our House was finished ahead of schedule so
they were helping another group lay floor. Now we need to
raise the money for our pledge. Neil is planning some
activities for this so watch for the news. However, You may
give toward our pledge when ever you are moved. Just mark
your gift so we know what to do with it. Thank you for your
support.

By the time you read this two important meetings will have
taken place. July 23, 2009 at 7P.M. the Council will meet with
the interim associate Conference minister to begin the search
process more earnestly. This meeting will help the council
appoint persons who are representative of the congregation.
The second important meeting is Saturday July 25, 2009 at
Parkway UCC on the future organization. If you would like to
attend this meeting please speak to the Pastor for more
information.

We have had to cancel our plans for VBS. WE could not get
all the pieces to come together at the right time. WE will look
forward to Sunday School in the fall. One of the best kept
secrets of St. Thomas is the Wednesday night Bible Study
and prayer group. We are studying the Old Testament right
now. We have completed Genesis and Exodus. You don’t
have to make every session. You will be able to set in when
you can. We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,
Pastor Dollgener

Dear Members and Friends

Donna and I are so grateful for all the ways you
care for us. Our 50th wedding anniversary was
great! Thank you.

And thanks for all the prayers during my illiness.
Finally I am beginning to feel like a human being
again.
